Scribblenauts Tips and Tricks
Here are just a few of the fun and interesting things that you can try out in Scribblenauts. For those of you who don’t mind spoilers, read on to the bottom for a complete dictionary of Scribblenauts words.
For Flying
There are a lot of alternatives to the ever popular ‘wings’ option. Sure, you can try things like flying carpets, and jetpacks. But if you want hover capability, try these words out:
- pegasus
- pterodactyl
- sphinx
- blimp
- flying car
- stealth bomber
For Swimming
Besides using a big clunky submarine, there are some other options out there for when you take to water:
- scuba
- snorkel
- flippers
- wetsuit
- dolphin
- narwhal (f*ck yeah!)
The Killers
When you just need to exterminate some enemies, keep these bad boys in mind:
- satan/devil
- death/reaper
- minotaur
- mummy
- t-rex
- blob
- phantom (when you need airborne death)
- antimatter (try getting between antimatter and a starite, sometimes you get lucky!)
- LHC (interact with it, and it creates a black hole)
- tsunami (not so fun)
- nuke (not so fun)
Vehicles
A few of the vehicles that stood out among the rest:
- hovertank
- clown car (you can’t ride it, but try to empty it!)
- snowmobile
- rally car
- excavator
- unicycle
- skateboard
- hoverboard (ala Marty McFly)
Favorite Weapons
Some of these are not really weapons, just things that you can throw. But we thought we’d include them nonetheless.
- shuruken (you saw that coming, right?)
- grenade
- bazooka
- shotgun
- flame thrower
- trebuchet
- grappling hook (maybe more of a tool?)
- starite (fun to throw at other starites)
Other Tips and Tricks
- Speaking of Marty McFly, be sure to check out the ‘time machine’ and see where it takes you. Similarly, the ‘teleporter’ will also bring you to strange new worlds as well (Two words: anal probe).
- Try stacking gorillas and pandas on top of each other. It’s ridiculous! (Thx reddit)
- Magnet+Tank=Weird
- Try attaching handcuffs to a starite, and then the other cuff to a vending machine. Select ‘fill.’ Then move the vending machine near Maxwell and empty it. Ta-daa! (Thx gamefaqs)
- Engineers love pulling switches. For levels with switches and buttons, make sure to recruit their help.
- Beavers and termites like to eat through wood. Who needs a saw when you got friends like that?
- Check out some Scribblenauts easter eggs over on eeggs.com.

I got a kick out of the Marty McFly reference in this scribblenauts post. Scribblenauts can’t be as cool as McFly. lol
